Marla Hartzen, MD has served as the Director of Psychiatry Residency Training at Advocate
Lutheran General Hospital (ALGH) since 2011.   She is the Medical Director for the Advocate
Medical Group (AMG) Park Ridge Practice, an Activity Director for ALGH Continuing Medical
Education, a member of the AMG Central Chicagoland Medical Group Management Committee,
and a member of the ALGH Multi-Specialty Peer Review Committee.  Her interests include
resident wellness, adult education, outpatient psychiatry, mood and anxiety disorders, the
history of psychiatry, diversity and culture, and healthcare safety. Dr. Hartzen completed her
psychiatry residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and received her medical degree
from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago.
