Dr. Laura Whiteley is the Associate Director of the Brown General Psychiatry Residency and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown. She has received funding from the NIMH, NICHD, and the Providence-Boston Center for AIDS Research (CFAR). She has been the PI on multiple R- series awards. Her research expertise and funding focuses on the utilization of mobile technology to improve and enhance behavioral interventions and treatment adherence. Laura completed a residency in adult psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Brown University. After her residency training, she completed a National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) T32 research fellowship. Laura is a dedicated mentor to residents and medical students and has received both the Brown Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior Research Mentorship Award, the Outstanding Clinician Award, and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Research Mentorship Award
