Dr. Jyotsna Ranga is the Director of the Psychiatry Residency Program and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Creighton University. She is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Her clinical work is in the teaching clinic at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic at Immanuel Hospital.

Dr. Ranga completed her medical training at Bangalore Medical College, India, and then did a brief Internship at the University of Venusberg, Bonn. She completed her Psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She was at Creighton University as faculty involved with the Child Psychiatry fellowship and was involved in teaching them family therapy. Dr. Ranga then worked at Hartford Hospital, Institute of Living for several years, where she was involved actively in fellowship training and organized their didactic curriculum. She worked as a child psychiatrist at a therapeutic school and built up an outpatient practice. She returned to Creighton in 2019, from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, where she was the Child Psychiatry fellowship Director as well as the Psychiatry Clerkship Director since 2012. Dr. Ranga has worked at many levels of care in Child psychiatry and enjoys outpatient work and building an alliance with children and families over time. She is interested in mentoring trainees and helping them reach their goals in education while mindfully navigating their well-being. Her research interest is in culture, diversity, and stigma, and has presented on these topics at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
